A graduate of Elon University, Drayson holds his degree in the Psychology of Coaching and Leadership, a major he designed and implemented. He has coached football at the college and high school levels, including time as a college Offensive Coordinator and Quarterback Coach, during which he led his offense to the top of the conference in scoring, yards per game, and passer rating. A former Division I athlete and all-founders league high school athlete, Drayson has seen sports at a high level from the perspective of both athlete and coach and is uniquely educated to help develop exceptional quarterbacks.
Drayson is a Certified Functional Movement Specialist through Grey Cook’s Functional Movement Systems (FMS), a Gold Level Certified Coach through the National Youth Sport Coaches’Association (NYSCA), a Certified American Sport Education Program (ASEP) Coach, and a Certified National Federation of State High Schools Coach (NFHS). He also previously created the 360 Coaching Certification at another organization, and is the co-creator of the SPU Biomechanical Integrity Analysis and the SPU Physical Output Analysis, as well as the creator of the SPU Quarterback Skills Analysis and the SPU Psychological Profile Analysis. Before founding SportPerformanceU and the Drayson Quarterback Academy, Drayson worked in sports in a variety of capacities. He ran a character and athletic development program in Greensboro, North Carolina, from which many of the athletes have gone on to distinguished athletic careers and been role models in their community. He organized and executed a trip to England for youth athletes to compete internationally. Most recently, he was a director at another sport performance organization. A very strong believer in character and sport as a medium through which we can learn many life values, Drayson strives to ensure that SportPerformanceU and its athletes leave a positive impact on the surrounding community. |
